Carillion’s Schemes – Perihelion Science Fiction
I’m quite happy to report that my science fiction story “Carillion’s Schemes” has been purchased for publication by Perihelion Science Fiction.
I’m guessing it will be online sometime in the fall or early winter. I’ll provide an update when more information is available.
Plasma Frequency Best of Anthology
I just signed the contract for Plasma Frequency’s Best of Anthology. Those accepted were voted in by readers, which is a huge compliment. Look for the anthology sometime in the first half of September.
Beneath the Rolling Clouds
It’s been an incredibly busy summer. On July 10th, I finished the initial draft of my new science fiction novel Beneath the Rolling Clouds. I had a blast writing this one, and I’m looking forward to diving into revisions in a few weeks. Beneath the Rolling Clouds ended up at 85,000 words, which is a nice, tight number.
My mood while writing Clouds was a combination of cat-spook frantic, sustained melancholy, and euphoria. Yes, odd. But it’s a strange, strange book. Not psychedelic carnival strange, but suburb strange. That slow, energy-sapping-over-a-lifetime strange. The kind you realize was there all along, but needed old eyes to see.
Other writing news is brewing, but I can’t reveal too much right now. Hopefully soon.
