I’m a lucky guy. I have someone who is open, honest and willing to read my work. The third draft of my novel is in her hands and so far I couldn’t be happier with the comments. If all goes well, I should be querying agents at the end of the month.
I also wanted to share this photo with you. I like the mood it conveys:
I took the photo several years ago in Glacier National Park, Montana. It’s not surprising that Montana is the setting for my novel.

Michael,
Thanks for visiting my site. Looks like Dead Bait 2 is on track for end of February. I was in touch with Gary Lucas at Severed Press in early January and polished a couple small editing issues. He was doing the final edits prior to going to the printer. What a nice guy. Severed Press has been a pure joy to work with. My story “Noodlers” was in Dead Bait and they treated me equally well for both that submission and “Heavy Weather” which is in Dead Bait 2. I can’t wait to see the final product and read your story “Shiners”. Hope your novel gets picked up. Best of luck.

I have no doubt that Dead Bait 2 will be a great product. I’m a big fan of the theme as much of what I write is inspired by nature, and how we interact with it.
Thanks for the comments about the novel. I’m finishing up a couple minor edits and then off it goes, hopefully by the end of this week.
Good luck with your novel as well.
I’ve been using http://querytracker.net/
to research agents (You probably know about this site, but just in case). I’ve found it helpful in narrowing down who I’m going to query.
